The 'It' Way to Travel Europe

What type of cruise is right for you?

Dreaming of a European vacation? You may be among the growing number of travelers ready to cruise the continent. The benefits are many, including the fact you can unpack just once and then enjoy your vacation. Spring flowers, castles, and holiday markets are just a few European highlights you can experience.
But when it comes to European cruises, the question is — ocean or river? Both provide unique experiences and enable you to see more in less time.
If you’re a Europe newbie, an ocean cruise might be the way to go. You’ll cover a lot of territory and see a sample of everything. Most cruises visit at least three, and sometimes as many as six, countries. The ship docks in major ports with excursions that allow you to see the high points. And you’ll have days at sea where you can set your own pace, whether that’s relaxing on a deck chair or exploring typical cruise ship amenities, such as night life, varied cuisines (often prepared by James Beard Award-winning chefs), and spa and exercise facilities.
If you’ve seen the highlights of Europe and feel like exploring specific destinations in greater depth where an ocean liner can’t go, a river cruise might be the answer. When cruising European rivers, you’ll typically see one or two countries. The boats dock overnight, giving you time to explore the area day and night. You’ll spend less time getting from point A to point B, and more time exploring some of the smaller port cities. A river cruise is great for food lovers, with an emphasis on local produce, cuisine, and wines.
Whether you cruise by sea or by river, you really can’t go wrong. Whichever you choose, you’re sure to see Europe in a new and memorable way.
